Of Good Results and Glow-Ups: 2025 Semester 2 Round-Up

The school year has officially ended and it’s time again to look back and celebrate some of our students’ achievements this semester!

Excellent results

We’ve had some students at our tuition centre in Singapore with really impressive results like A grades and near full marks – a big congrats to them! These students have been  very consistent in showing up for classes, doing the practice work that’s been given to them, and following the techniques taught by our tutors. Although some of them were already scoring decently well, they did not rest on their laurels and continued to challenge themselves to achieve more. For their spirit of excellence and self-driven attitude, we commend these students!

Impressive improvements

We also want to shine the spotlight on some students who have made huge improvements in the last year. It’s easy to feel demoralised or think that ‘this just isn’t for me’, but these students went against the odds and turned things around. We hope their stories serve as an inspiration to all that poor results is not the end!

From E8 to B4 in HCI Sec 1

R, a Hwa Chong Institution Sec 1 student, came to us for IP Math Tuition when he was scoring E8 for math. It came as a great shock to him because he had always been a student with good grades in primary school. But he was not prepared for the increased demands in secondary school, especially in the Integrated Programme in an elite school in Singapore.

Our tuition classes provided R with much-needed structure to review topics that he had learnt in school, as well as an avenue to ask questions and clarify doubts. With this added support and consistency, R was able to pull his grade up to B4, clinching him the Most Improved Student award in his class!

RGS Glow-up Award

Our RGS Sec 3 student, V, told us that she received a “Glow-Up Award” for having the biggest improvement in Math in her class! It was a well-earned award as she had improved her score by more than 20 marks since last year – a tremendous feat indeed!

When V joined us for Math tuition early this year, our tutor helped her identify the areas she needed the most help with, and quickly set a plan in action. Within 8 months of tuition, we could already see V’s increased confidence, which translated into her remarkable end-of-year results!

Fail to Pass

A just-pass mark might not seem impressive to most, but it is a huge achievement for L, a Sec 1 RGS student who had scored F9 previously! Furthermore, RGS is known to have quite difficult exam papers, and this year was no exception. Many of our students and their classmates in school didn’t get very good grades.

With L, our tutor focused on building up her foundation, making sure to do so in a patient and encouraging way – especially in a subject where she was feeling quite discouraged about. We are so glad that she did not give up and managed to go from Fail to Pass this year, and we are confident she can continue to improve by keeping up the good effort!

Conclusion

We are so thankful for yet another year of wonderful moments in the classrooms – seeing our students grow in knowledge and confidence! It is our greatest satisfaction as tutors to see our students learning to appreciate the subjects and feel empowered to achieve their academic goals.

But the journey doesn’t stop here: for students moving on to the next year of learning, our year-end classes are running this holiday to ease the transition to the new year. Our tutors are continuing to work hard, teaching and inspiring students each day!
